SEOUL, KOREA

And now we’re in Seoul – this trip is just flying by!  Seoul is absolutely amazing.  It reminds me a lot of New York City, a lot more than even Tokyo, and it is beautiful.  Today we went to some temples and the palace, and they are just incredible.  The painting on them is so detailed and colorful and bright and gorgeous, and the architecture, wood, and engraving are just amazingly beautiful.  I just love every single part of this culture!

One of the coolest parts of the day was seeing the changing of the guards at one of the temples.  The uniforms were really fun and bright, and the musical procession was super cool, but taking a picture next to them was kind of scary because the guard’s huge blade was right above my head!

Today we went to the DMZ, which is the border between North and South Korea.  It was really cool to see, but it was sad too; it makes me feel so fortunate to live in the USA.  We also visited Seoul Tower – it was the most incredible, beautiful view I have ever seen!!  There’s just something amazing about being so high and seeing the world from a bird’s eye view; it’s just so wonderful.

The food is really good too.  Yesterday we went to an authentic Korean dinner place.  We sat on the ground around a really, really, really short table.  It was a lot of fun, and the food was absolutely delicious.

Seoul is amazing and beautiful, and I love it here!

This is me with one of the guards.  Seeing the guards change was one of my favorite things I’ve seen here in Seoul.

One of the temples we went to had lanterns completely surrounding it.  It was absolutely beautiful.
