Este greu credet ca eu sunt in me transfer doi! (I can't believe that I'm in my second transfer!) This first transfer has gone by so quickly, am fost minunat! (It was wonderful!) Varsnic Evans and Sora Robertson are most likely going to be transferred, which is both sad and happy, because they are wonderful missionaries, and I have loved getting to know them and I will miss them both so much, but their next areas will be greatly blessed to have them.
I'll start from the beginning of this amazing week, actually on Tuesday, because Tuesday was when we had the opportunity to meet with a less-active member, Germina! She's so funny and happy, she has five children all grown up and with families of their own, she loves talking about them. She's a bit afraid to come back to church, but we're going to keep meeting her, and I hope that as we remind her of our love and our Heavenly Father's love, that she will come back. I did my first time blockknocking in her apartment building, which is when we knock on people's doors and ask to share the "Because of Him" video. No one really wanted to talk with us, but I know the Lord blesses us when we act with courage. I know because later, when we were waiting for our bus, the Spirit gave me the courage to start talking to the woman sitting next to me on the bench, a wonderful woman named Sondra. Then that night, the same thing happened in our apartment building, in the elevator with a beautiful little girl named Sofia and her mother. When we do our very best to act in courage, and do the will of the Lord, He really does bless us with the Spirit. This week, when I was reading in the Book of Mormon, I came across 1 Nephi 13:37: "And blessed are they who shall seek to bring forth my Zion at that day, for they shall have the gift and power of the Holy Ghost; and if they endure to the end they shall be lifted up at the last day, and shall be saved in the everlasting kingdom of the Lamb; and whoso shall publish peace, yea, tidings of great joy, how beautiful upon the mountains shall they be." As I seek to bring forth Zion with the power of the Holy Ghost and endure to the end, the Lord really will make me beautiful upon the mountains of Brasov. I know that this promise applies to as all, and that gives me such great joy.
On Wednesday, we had the chance to meet with Raluca, she leaves today for the United States. I'm going to miss her, and I hope that I'll be able to continue teaching her when she returns. We also met with two members, Sora Miron and Emma, and were able to teach them about the Book of Mormon. We have used the Book of Mormon so much this week, we went streetboarding on Friday, we showed how the Book of Mormon can answer the questions of the soul, and marked chapters and verses that answered questions like "Where do I go when I die?" "How can I strengthen my family?" and so on. We gave away 3, and during the Spiritual thought after English class the next day, we had it on the Book of Mormon, and gave away about 15! I wrote my testimony in a couple of them, I would like to share it with you because I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and when we read it with a sincere heart, He will answer.
(I know God loves us. I know this because He has given us the Book of Mormon, another testament of His Son, Jesus Christ. I know Jesus Christ is our Savior and we can come closer to Him through the Book of Mormon. I know God send the Holy Ghost to us when we read with faith in Christ and His words, because I have felt His love. I know God is our Heavenly Father and we are His children. I know that the Book of Mormon testifies of Jesus Christ. I love Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and I love the Book of Mormon. I am grateful for eternity for this gift from Heavenly Father.)
We're going to be having a ward BBQ this Saturday, I'm very excited because I feel that this will help unite our branch. But the most special of all this week is what happened yesterday. Our district had a wonderful lunch with an investigator Denisa and her daughter. There was so much wonderful food: fresh fruits and vegetables, ham, salami, and chicken with potatoes, bread (of course), corn meal with 5 kinds of cheese on top, and for dessert: ice cream with a fruit tart and strawberries. They are such wonderful people, they come to English all the time and to church a few times as well. But after that, Sora Routson felt prompted to visit a less-active member I hadn't met yet: Alexandra and her daughter, Alysse. When we got there, she welcomed us in and introduced us to her nonmember friend Mihai. He's very interested in our message and is eager to meet with us this Thursday. I am so blessed to have a companion like Sora Routson, because she obeyed the will of the Lord even though she didn't know why, because she followed the Spirit, we have a new investigator with real intent. I hope that I can be just like her and I can testify that when we chose the Lord's will over our own, even though it may be a good thing, He always has the best in store. I am truly blessed, in this and in all things. I love the Lord and I love His work and I love all of you. You are all such examples to me. "Christ is preached, and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice." I hope you all will too!
Sorry, I just realized that I forgot to answer Dad's question about the temple. The temple is a blessing that I never want to take for granted. I was able to go to the Salt Lake Temple or the Jordan River Temple or when I was in college, the Rexburg Temple almost every week, and I feel that it has blessed me so much on my mission. The closest temples that the people of Romania go to are the Friedburg, Germany temple and the Kyiv, Ukraine temple. I have seen the picture of the Kyiv temple on members' walls and I have put it up in my own room because every time I look at it, I am reminded of how thankful I am for a Heavenly Father who loves us so much that He has provided a way for us to be with our families forever. Corina, a member we visit frequently, is getting a job so she can start saving to go to the temple and do all the work for her family. She has been such an example of someone who understands that there is nothing worth sacrificing over more than the Holy House of God. The temple is truly a place where we can find love, peace, and answers in a world that is so dark and confused. Never lose sight of the temple, even if you live where there isn't one, keep that spirit in your heart, because the temple is "the mountain of the Lord" and as President Monson said, "The blessings of the temple are priceless...there is no blessing more precious to me than the comfort and peace I receive from the knowledge that [I can be with those I love for eternity]
Here are some pictures: such big smiles as Sora Routson and I enjoy covergi cu ciocolatta, our activity on Tuesday, a Kinder Egg with a fun toy inside, our streetboard, and our district with Denisa!
