TREI LUNI! (THREE MONTHS!)
Nu cred ca este trei luni daca o misonara! (I can’t believe I have been a missionary for 3 months)! Time is just flying by! That makes me a little sad because I love this beautiful country and the wonderful people here, but I'm just trying to savor every moment of each day!
I know it's only been a few days since my last email, but a lot of wonderful things have happened in the last couple days! Something I forgot to mention last week when we were touring the Peles castle, we saw a crest with these words: Nici unul insa Dumnezeu (None but God). I couldn't take a picture inside the castle without paying a fine, so the wording might be a little wrong, but when I saw those words, it really touched me, because when we remember that God is our Leader, none else. If He be with us, "who can prevail against us?"
Thursday, we met with a member at school in Brasov, a wonderful young woman named Larisa. She's very smart, studying psychology, and she has a very strong testimony of the gospel. Friday was a wonderful day, it was Corina's birthday, so Sora Bair, altii surori, and Sora Routson and I took her out to lunch at an authentic Romanian restaurant called Gaura Dulce. She kept telling us over and over again what a special experience this was. Corina is a truly wonderful member, and doing this for her was a highlight for this week! After lunch, our district met up to go English contacting. Sora Bastidas got a great idea from some other sisters to make some shirts with our English class posters, and they turned out great! We wore them as we went contacting in Parcul Noa and we passed out a lot of English cards! We went out to eat at a restaurant called Nemo for our district dinner, I am very blessed to have a wonderful district. Saturday was our English class, and Adriana came! She wasn't there last week and we couldn't reach her cell, so I was afraid she stopped coming and kept praying that she would come back and she did! We also had a new girl in our advanced class, Maria, she's very open and smart, and she stayed for our spiritual thought! We also had the chance, along with Sora and Elder Bair, to have dinner with Kinga and her mother, I gave her that picture of the Kyiv temple and she was thrilled! We also taught her more about Family History and we're going to help her get an account!
Something that I've learned this week is that no matter what is wrong in our personal lives or in the world, no matter how scary things may seem or how hopeless, God will never abandon us. Through Him, we can conquer any challenge that the Adversary may send our way. "This is the heritage of all my servants, and their righteousness is of me." 3 Nephi 22:17 Never give up and never stop believing in God and in yourselves!
