NEXT STOP, PLOIESTI!
Buna! So much has happened since last Monday, I'm not sure I will be able to fit it all in one email! But I'll certainly try, because this week was full of wonderful lessons and people and sights, old and new since I have now been transferred to Ploiesti!
As I said before, I have been transferred to Ploiesti with Sora Draper! Brasov is an amazing, beautiful city, not just because of the sights but because of the way the Gospel has changed all of us for the better. I will keep all the wonderful memories and moments in my heart, because the wonderful thing about the Gospel, the more you remember, the Spirit will teach you more that you didn't even realize.
This week, through the Mission Conference and the Book of Mormon challenge, I have learned some very important lessons, one of the biggest is that the prophets that wrote in the Book of Mormon didn't want to write what they want, but what the Lord wanted. When we tell the Lord "not my will, but thine be done", miracles will occur. I can promise that with all my heart and with so much gratitude.
This transfer (my fourth transfer-wow!) President Ivory wants us to focus on the Book of Mormon. I am so thankful that my family helped make this sacred book such a big part of my life through early morning scripture study, Book of Mormon with pictures as a little kid, and other ways. I truly love this challenge and firmly believe that if we read and ask the Lord to tell us what He wants us to learn, then we are able to keep receiving spiritual guidance in different ways, no matter how many times we read. When President Ivory was speaking about this challenge yesterday, the last day of the Mission Conference, he said something that really struck me: that most of the verses in this word of God are invitations to act and promised blessings if we choose to do so. The Spirit bore witness to me that it is truly an important and wonderful reason we have been given the Book of Mormon, the Lord reveals His will to us and gives us the choice to accept the invitation and the blessings that will come. There is a feeling that comes from the Book of Mormon that nothing else in the world can give us: the feeling that through our choice to know and do God's will, we can be blessed by becoming more like Him.
P.S. I'm so sorry I don't have a lot of time to write today, but I'll write more next week and send pictures!
HANNAH DIDN'T SEND PICTURES THIS WEEK, BUT WE HAVE POSTED SOME WE RECEIVED FROM OUR FRIENDS, MATT & LOUISE LEAVITT, WHO HAPPENED TO BE IN HANNAH'S BRANCH THIS PAST SUNDAY. MATT WAS ONE OF THE FIRST MISSIONARIES IN ROMANIA 20+ YEARS AGO!
WE ALSO POSTED A PICTURE WE FOUND ONLINE OF PLOIESTI (TOP PICTURE). THE BOTTOM PICTURE IS THEIR MEETINGHOUSE WHERE THEY ATTEND CHURCH.
