Drum Bun si un an nou fericit! (Good Journey and Happy New Year!)

Buna, draga familia si prietene mele si un an nou fericit! (Hello, my dear family and friends, and Happy New Year very soon!) Sper ca ati avut un Craciun Fericit! ( I hope you all had a Merry Christmas!) I celebrated Christmas in Iasi and I'll be celebrating New Year's in Bacau, my new area! Christmas was a wonderful experience here in Iasi, especially seeing my wonderful family!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Christmas in Iasi was so much fun, our whole week was full of Christmas adventures! Monday, we bought  Christmas gifts for our district and gifts for the members and investigators! We delivered some on Monday and Tuesday.

Wednesday, we got a baptismal date: Christina the woman we met streetboarding! We met with her two other times on Tuesday we taught her the Restoration and gave her a copy of the Book of Mormon and a birthday/Christmas gift. She was super interested the whole time and when we asked her if she would prepare for a baptismal date on January 23rd, she said yes! Sora Cutler and I were thrilled! She said the closing prayer and by the end, she was sobbing. The Spirit was very strong and I felt such gratitude for the chance to share the Christmas gift of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with this wonderful daughter of God.

Christmas Eve night, we spent the night Christmas caroling to the members with our district! It was wonderful, though I was pretty full by the end because everyone kept feeding us Christmas treats! :) That night, Sora Cutler and I read the Christmas story in Matthew and Luke and wrote one gift we would give to Christ. I've thought a lot about what I've learned from planning and goals from my past experiences, companions, and from President Ivory, Elder Ballard, Elder Kearon, and Elder Dyches. I thought a lot about all that I learned so far on my mission, and all that I wanted to do to become better in the new year ahead. I've come to realize that when we set goals, we are giving Heavenly Father and our Savior gifts of faith, love, and a desire to be better. I want to align my will to His will, to be humble and faithful enough to listen to what the Spirit tells me and then patient and loving and courageous enough to carry it out.

A new transfer has come and I have been transferred with Sora Cutler to the cute little city of Bacau! I'll be with my trainer Sora Routson and Sora Spangler! I'm going to miss Iasi and all the wonderful people I'm leaving behind, but I'm excited for Bacau and all the wonderful things that I know will happen next!

Va iubesc!

Sora Lunt
